December 2004

  • Anonymous - Wednesday 29th     About 3 weeks ago, I asked for prayer for a young couple who went to Hong Kong and Thailand on holiday and to run a marathon in Hong Kong. She came 5th and all went well. They also had a wonderful holiday and wanted to stay longer till the 30th Dec., but, her sister from American was leaving on the 26th Dec and she wanted to spend some time with her as it would be long before she will see her again. So they returned on the 22nd Dec...I can just praise God and THANK Him for their protection and safe return! I cry every time I see or hear the news of more and more people lost and dead and I just thank Him again and again... THANK YOU!

  • Anonymous - Tuesday 28th     Hi there! I asked you to pray back in November for my friend, who was planning to flee the country to get out of an abusive long term relationship. It was a v stressful time for all involved, but the good news is that she got back to her home country with the family member without any big complications: this was a real miracle! She is doing fairly well, though complete healing and moving on will obviously take time. I was able to talk about my faith with her so hopefully she will have taken some of that in too.

  • "Sleepless" - Friday 24th     Update, and thanks to God and to everybody who prayed following my request last week. Thanks especially to the pray-ers who sent me the encouraging WORDS. I have not taken any tablets for a week. My sleep is still broken~ reading and listening to worship tapes at 3 or 4 in the morning! But I am feeling I can cope with the days and am confident that it will continue to get better. Please carry on praying... I hope to go back to the doctor in two weeks and tell him I do not have a problem any more.

  • Steve c/o Heather (Birmingham) - Saturday 18th     Thanks to all who have been praying! When I spoke to Steve last night and asked him about the specific side effects he was experiencing from the anti-depressants, he told me that they were a lot better...not completely gone, but the difference was quite dramatic, praise God! Please continue to pray for his salvation!

  • L and her daughter M - Thursday 16th     Thanks to all those who have been praying for M: at last the doctors have found out what is wrong! She has bronchiolitis, a chest infection and a virus. Thankfully the treatment the doctors were already giving her was the right one, but she is still very poorly, with a temperature that can fluctuate within a few minutes from normal to extremely high, and still has a long way to go in terms of her illness. Please continue to pray for her, and for her mum L, that they will both be able to get some sleep, and that they will really know God's presence and peace with them.

  • Anonymous - Wednesday 15th     My brother and I were not getting on due to a disagreement at a family gathering. When I tried to contact him he would not respond, also he was quite ill at the time and I was really concerned that if his situation deteriorated further then I may not get a chance to reconcile the situation if he were to die. Anyway I prayed that he would get well and have a full recovery, which he did and that there would be healing between us, which has already started when he called me up after 6 months, our conversation went fine and we got on fine and looking
forward to keeping it that way. Praise God in Jesus' name.

  • Anonymous - Sunday 12th     Glory be to God! The young business man who was in a panic about his clients not paying him so he can pay his debtors, (is. importer company etc) got enough money in to pay that company as well as a promise of some other payment to settle his debts! This in a time were everybody is slow in paying accounts! So, Glory be to God who hears our prayers! Thank you Dear Lord! Also, a young girl of 19 who was asked by friends to take them half way across the country with her little car, in a very busy time on the road in the holiday season,  and her father told her he didn't want her to go, but she insisted to go. Her mother prayed that she will be safe on the road, as she is very strong willed and usually follows her own head, and yesterday, she phoned her mother form the town where she lives, as this time, she didn't go and and tried to please her friends, the friends had to change their plans. There is NOTHING God CANNOT do, He makes the impossible, POSSIBLE! Changing peoples hearts and minds. Don't give up hope, He hears our every pray and at the right time, He answers! We have a Wonderful Father God who loves us very much! Glory unto Him!

  • Amy (Warwickshire) - Wednesday 8th    My parents bought me a fantastic Birthday and Christmas present: a digital camera, so I will be able to take lots of great pictures, and even better, use them for the website!  Thanks mum and dad and God for providing.

  • Anonymous - Tuesday 7th     I had asked for prayer for my sister Joy, who had been hurt in a bike accident and then had a bad cold, which meant she had hardly had any sleep in several days and was getting behind in her studies. I have since talked to her and she said she has been finding sleep easier and has been able to catch up on some of her work.

  • Juliana (South Africa) - Monday 6th     I just want to encourage as many people as possible by saying that God does answer prayers in big ways and such small ways that we don't even notice it! From lost cats to lost children to lost friendships and love we must just open our eyes and SEE! A cat who is the dear companion of an elderly woman was lost, and the cat returned, after lots of prayer, bringing much joy, Nina was floating around in the world, in dangerous places, and God changed her mind and heart and outlook, friendships that makes life meaningful was broken, and God restored it, hearts of people who's happiness depended on their bank balance, are been changed. If things aren't working out the way we want it right now, it is because God has a BETTER plan for us, and to focus on the Goodness, the Grace, the Love and the Almighty Power of God, what His Son did for us on the Cross and the wonderful Gift of the Holy Spirit, that is with us always!!! To praise God really in every thing, as it will bless US!  We don't have to make an appointment, He is THERE FOR US!! We can really just rejoice and praise His Glorious Name!!!! May you all experience the Love of God. Remember, He is not a man, there is NO meanness in Him, ONLY GOOD and we can trust Him al the time for His Faithfulness!!! Glory to God in the Most High!! And we dare call Him our Father!

  • Anonymous - Sunday 5th     In September I submitted two requests. One was that I had suffered from (fairly mild) depression and the other was that I was visiting Spain to see a friend, but had not heard from her.  Both prayers have been answered - the holiday went ahead and it was a good opportunity to spend time with my friend. In the longer term I have been finding my depression has improved, although it is still a problem.

  • M c/o Anonymous - Sunday 5th     Praise God for answered prayer! M is much better today, although still not 100%, and both mum and daughter have been able to get a good night's sleep! M has also coped well with having to use a ventolin paediatric volumiser for the first time for her asthma, which can be really traumatic for many young children!

  • Billy (Mold) - Thursday 2nd     Praise the LORD, Nicola P has woken up. Still a long way to go, please keep praying.

November 2004

  • Anonymous - Monday 29th     A while ago I requested that you pray for my elderly mother, that she would be able to move into the bungalow she wanted. Everything went through and she moved in yesterday. It seems exactly right for her in practically every way. Please pray that she'll be happy and contented there. Also keep praying for H's depression to lift as she is still unable to work - may she come to know God's kindness and mercy. Thank God for the abundance of His gifts, especially for the gift of His Son.

  • Anonymous - Wednesday 24th     Thank you for praying for me, my partner & his son. Relations with my partners ex are still strained but, so far, improving. Please continue to pray for us as she will be meeting with my partner at the weekend as there's something she wants to 'discuss'. I'm worried sick but am trying to believe that the Lord will take care of things. x

  • Anonymous - Tuesday 23rd     The unpleasant situation with the pupil (that I described in a recent request) has been resolved... in a way. He was suspended for three days and will be permanently withdrawn from English Lessons with me. This is great for me, as the regular verbal abuse will stop but I can't help feeling that it is somehow worse for him. He will sit alone and actually get the work done, but it will be 101 worksheets instead of variety. He is to blame for his behaviour, and I could not really imagine a miraculous turnaround but I wanted to. Keep praying!

  • Steve (Warwick) - Tuesday 23rd     Thanks to all who prayed for the youth group at Christ Church, Bexleyheath, that my sister is helping to start. They had substantially more people attend last Friday, and she's now confident that enough young people are committed for it to take off properly over the coming months.

  • Anonymous - Sunday 21st     I want to give glory to the Lord and thanks to all you prayer warriors. My daughter was in great pain and really ill but Praise God no symptoms now at all.

  • Sam c/o Chris - Sunday 21st     Here is a message from my daughter about baby Sam who had Pneumonia and Diarrhoea as well as bronchiolitis.

"Apparently Sam is having a go at feeding orally, and they have reduced his oxygen.  Bless him - he's a real little fighter.
Please keep those prayers coming.  They seem to be working so far!"

Thank you all for your prayers.  Love Chris

  • Nina c/o Juliana (South Africa) - Sunday 21st     Nina left home nearly a year ago without her Bible. She was mixed up in a 'wild' crowd, seeking 'fun' in the wrong place and I have prayed non stop for her protection and  to develop a deep hunger for the Lord. She lost 3 friends, one through drugs, 2 by drink and driving and she started to ask me to please pray for them and some other children. In July, she changed her friends completely and are now friends with a group of Christian children that has cell groups once a week, and goes to church regularly. I want to encourage all who pray, that PRAYERS ARE ANSWERED BECAUSE GOD IS GOOD AND FAITHFULL, AND FULL OF WONDERFUL MERCY!! Praise to our Wonderful God and Heavenly Father!!!!!For ever and ever!

  • Anonymous - Sunday 21st     Dear Prayer warriors, I have prayed that my friend would make contact with me again, and thanks to God, he did. He is very special as we are companions in Christ. He has helped me in going back to church, seeking God earnestly and wanting to be a better person totally. He gives me perspective and points out the issues that I would other wise have missed, in the Bible and in Life in general. So, as you can see, I miss hearing from him when he doesn't write. Also because he is not well, I am concerned and would like to know how he is doing, and not hearing from him, is very bad for me. We live worlds apart, so e-mail is a wonderful way to keep contact and if he cuts that off, I do feel lost and extremely sad. I believe God gives us our friends, and He has blessed me very much with this special friend! Please keep on praying that he will keep in contact! Thanks to God and for all your prayers.

  • Rev. B. Abraham - Friday 12th     I am thankful to God for your prayers and the  supports. Recently on November 6th we had 24 pastors for our one day  monthly seminars and they gave testimony that they are blessed being with us in spiritual things. Mrs.Geetha Meganathan a Hindu convert who was attacked by witch craft -black magic persons for 25 years got delivered completely after months of hard and fasting prayers.  Praise the Lord. They both are filled with the Holy Spirit. Then we targeted other people - Mr. Anbalagan, Salome Mary, Mr.Sankar, Mrs.Selvi Sankar, Mr.A.Rajan and Mrs. Priya Rajan to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. So we took special studies for the preparation on this Tuesday and on Wednesday. For  our wonder all 6 of them received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and began to speak in tongues.   The second day I told about getting vision and dreams.  The three people testified they saw dreams and heard the voice of God. Praise the Lord.  When they were sharing   these  testimonies I remembered you.
I want to thank you for your prayers  and thanks for your prayers for Van also which is very useful for us in the winter season to visit  with many people for home cell ministries. I humbly request you to  continue to keep us in your prayers and support us as the Lord leads. WE HAVE ALSO RECEIVED A LETTER AND PHOTOGRAPHS IN THE POST OF REV. B. ABRAHAM AND HIS WORK WITH THE NORTH INDIA GOSPEL MISSION. THANKS VERY MUCH.

  • TP - Thursday 11th     I recently asked for prayer for TP who had a lump in her breast. She has recently had it removed and tests show that it was not malignant. Give thanks that this worry has been removed and praise God for his goodness.

  • Mary, Mary (USA) - Tuesday 9th     Let's start thanking God for our healings ( don't call it our sickness, or take ownership) after we pray for it. We don't need to ask twice just praise and thank him for he is good and " by His stripes we were healed. When a job looses it's joy it could be that God is getting ready to move you out. Ask him if he has something better for you and wait for his answer before moving. Then start to prepare. God has something very special for his children who are willing to say "Use Me". This ministry is bigger than you ever thought it would be. You may be surprised to think God can use you but he has already, in a big way. Money cometh to you!!!!!!! For all the needs to be supplied. Thank you Lord for divine interventions and connections!

  • Reinhardt c/o Juliana (South Africa) - Friday 5th     We can just praise God for His Love and Kindness!! He is so faithfull and full of mercy! Reinhardt had a telephone call out of the 'blue' from a very famous business client of his who invited him and his wife for supper and they talked the whole of the evening about Jesus, and how fame and success nearly was the end of him!!! He and his wife are going to stay over at Reinhardt's house and go to church on Sunday together!!

  • Billy c/o Heather (Birmingham) - Friday 5th     Praise God that Billy is really starting to improve! Here is what his niece posted on the Diagnosed Arthritis group message boards today (http://www.groups.msn.com/DiagnosedArthritis.com:)

"Good news  with my uncle Billy, he has managed to get up and have a bit of a walk around the ward and also surprised my aunt with a phonecall at 9pm, his speech is still difficult but my aunt understood his intentions.....  He has also been transferred to another hospital that specialises in rehabilitation, not sure how long he will be in for....
I have told him about all your messages and he is so pleased, his church have been praying and he is astounded at the amount of well wishes....  He has asked me to say thank you....."

October 2004

  • Anonymous - Saturday 30th     Hi, I posted a prayer request about 6 months ago, I was unhappy at work and wanted help to find another job.  Well, 6 months later and my prayers have been answered, but not in the way that I expected.  Over the Summer my husband got fired from his job - we went through a terrible time and wondered how on earth we would cope.  I answered an email from a school wanting temp work, and as I have a Tuesdays off I offered to go and help them.  Well, I HATED it!!  I came back to my job the day after and realised just how great it really was!  SO, I am a lot happier - I think God wanted me to appreciate just how blessed I am.  Good news for my husband too - he now has a job where he is appreciated and not taken for granted.  Thank you to everyone who prayed for me.   Thanks be to God who does answer our prayers - even if it is not the way we expect!

  • P (Coventry) - Wednesday 27th     Dear All, I've posted a few times over the last few months cos I needed to redo a placement and these are in short supply. Found out that I now have a placement in Birmingham so I can stay in Cov and commute. Don't yet know when it'll be. Please continue to pray that the retake will go ok, that I'll get on with the department and that I'll pass it this time. Please could you also pray I get my dissertation proposal written. Thanks.

  • Anonymous - Tuesday 26th     Thank you all for praying about my role at work and ability to do what my boss wants me to do.  I have become significantly more confident and able, and am finding taking responsibility and planning ahead more natural.  I know I have a long way to go yet, but I am no longer afraid that I will be inadequate to get there.  Thank you very much.

  • Debbie - Tuesday 26th     I want to thank our Lord and each of you for your prayers for my daughter.  I am Debbie and have put in requests for 2 months for my daughters depression, and that she will find a job that suites her, and to met the right man.  She has found the job that is right for her, she is starting at the bottom, but I heard excitement in her that I have not heard for a long time after her first day of training. So thank you that is a moment I have waited for.  Please keep her in your prayers, remember she is 20 and has never dated, I know God has plans for that too!  Thanks!

  • Amy (Warwickshire) - Tuesday 19th     Thanks for praying for me the last few weeks over my hospital appointments and injection yesterday.  The injection went fine yesterday (pretty uncomfortable but no complications!) and today I feel ok.  Please pray that the drugs take effect over the next 4-5 days and that I will experience real relief and healing too.  Thanks.

  • B c/o Chris - Friday 15th     Thank you for praying for B who went into hospital suddenly from work on Tuesday.  Happily he was able to come home on Wednesday assured that his Heart, Liver and Kidneys are all fine and that the pain was of a musculo/skeletal nature.  He has been back to work today on the proviso that he takes it easy and although not completely free of pain is much better.  God bless you all.

  • Heather (Birmingham) - Thursday 14th     Thanks to all who have been praying for me this week! At the beginning of the week, I really didn't think I would manage to keep working, but praise God that prayers have been answered and I am still there!!! It has been a tough week, but with good treatment from my physio and your prayers, I have even enjoyed the playing, and my left shoulder is considerably better than it was! And, in an ironic twist which gives further glory to God, I was not meant to be at work today, but didn't realise, and when it became apparent that someone had gone off sick, and the person on call lived about 60 miles away, I was able to offer to play instead of him, because I happened to be there anyway for a meeting!!! God has a wonderful sense of humour, and I feel this was a really positive witness for him!
HOWEVER, please keep praying, because I now have a new problem-severe inflammation in my left foot which is making my life very difficult! It feel as  if I have broken my foot, and is agony to walk on, but apparently it is soft tissue inflammation (probably caused by my Hypermobility Syndrome). It throbs and burns all the time, but means I am limping badly, which is then causing more pain in my knees and back!!! I am concerned because it seems to be getting worse, and the rest of my body is starting to really be affected. Please pray a) that the pain will ease so I can walk properly and that I won't cause any further damage to my body and b) that I will continue to really trust God with my health. This hymn expresses how I feel exactly!
"Praise My soul the King of Heaven, To His feet thy tribute bring,
Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven, Who like me His praise should sing?...
Father-like He tends and spares us, Well our feeble frame He knows,
In His hands He gently bears us, Rescues us from all our foes
Praise Him....widely as His mercy flows!"

  • Update on A (from October 5th) - Sunday 10th     Thanks to all who prayed for my friend A who was in crisis over her parents/home situation. please continue to pray, as the situation at home is not resolved, but praise God that she has been kept safe and has been able to carry on living with help from a friend. Pray that her housing need will be effectively sorted and her health doesn't deteriorate any more. Praise God for answering and looking after His precious child A!

  • Amy (Warwickshire) - Friday 8th     Thanks for praying with me through my hospital appointments over the last week.  I now have a date for my epidural steroid injection (18th Oct).  Please pray that this is straightforward and provides me with relief.  I also need much prayer for wisdom as to whether or not to then go ahead with back surgery, which I am on the list to have.  My specialist has put it off for a while especially because of the implications surgery has for people with Hypermobility Syndrome.  However, it may be necessary if I am to regain a better quality of life after all this time. Please pray that I may be given enough information and advice from him and from people with HMS who have undergone similar operations.  I need to trust God fully with this whole thing!

  • Anna (London) - Wednesday 6th     (several months ago) Anna had pain in her finger associated with playing her viola.  She is starting a career as a professional musician, so this was very distressing.  When the surgeon operated he found tiny pieces of viola string under the skin irritating the nerve!  This was very strange but a huge relief because, now these are removed, the finger can heal.  It rules out any diagnoses of referred pain from wrist or shoulder nerve problems, which would have been more serious.  Please pray for Anna as a friend who has been taking care of her over this time would love her to come to know Jesus.

  • Anonymous - Tuesday 5th     From 27th September - From one of the children who offered to pray every day for Southam Church and the town.  Her mum said she went to her bedroom to pray every day, and one day came down and said, 'I feel all tingly and clean!'  Praise God for the way He speaks to everyone, and touches their hearts, and uses them in His purposes.

  • Jeff and Mary (USA) - Sunday 3rd     As we prayed together tonight at 10:30 pm. We believe all prayers were answered and we are waiting to hear the testimonies to confirm. PS We had a very dear friend fall and we trusted God for her return. Tonight she and her husband visited us. The Lord answered our prayers. Amen We came through the second hurricane fine. Thank you for your prayers.

September 2004

  • Mary Mary and Jeff (USA) - Sunday 26th     We are so glad to read all the wonderful answers to prayer. Your prayers and prayerrequests.co.uk has been a comfort to us and a blessing. Everyone I show this to thinks it is great. Keep up the good work for the Lord and His children. We are now prepared for this next wave of hurricanes. It has changed our lives because we are a tourist spot. So with every hurricane it stops everything dead in its tracks. People are hurting financially but more open to the gospel message.  Thanks again for your prayers and your love.

  • Rob (Dorset) - Wednesday 22nd     Thanks for the prayers (especially from a certain prayer partner). My headache was not too bad and my assessment went well.

  • Anonymous - Wednesday 22nd     Some weeks ago I asked for prayer for Michael R who had a bad heart attack. Apparently he is now making a very strong recovery. Thank you to everyone who prayed, and thanks be to God for this healing.

  • Anonymous - Wednesday 22nd     Thanks to everyone who prayed for my Nan over the summer. She is a very faithful servant of Jesus who has served Him through a very special ministry of hospitality and friendship. She is amazingly recovered, she is able to walk and sit up and she is enjoying being at a Christian care home, which is a real answer to prayer. Please would you continue to pray for her to be surrounded by love and protected. Also that she would be able to speak properly so that she can make friends. Also, what she has been through has shown us that there are many old people in hospitals and care homes who are lonely and quite often not looked after very well-so please pray for all people in those situations. Praise be to our wonderful God through Jesus Christ.

  • Mary, Mary and Jeff - Saturday 18th     Praise the Lord! Our power came back on on Tuesday. We did not have too much damage. Just from heat. We have to repair some floors and Jeff's guitar was ruined but nothing important that con not be replaced. This was the worst hurricane we ever went through. I hope to not go through one again but probably will if we stay in Florida. Thank you for all your prayers.

  • L (6th September) c/o Heather (Birmingham) - Sunday 12th     Praise God for answered prayer! My friend L went away to spend time getting to know her new adoptive daughter last week, and it was thought that the introductions would take at least 2 weeks. However, things went so well and prayers were answered so specifically that she is now back in Birmingham with her new adoptive daughter, and they are getting on really well! It is very obvious that this child is the right one for my friend, and I want to give God the glory as well as thanking those of you who prayed for L and her new daughter M. Please continue to pray that they will enjoy the process of really getting to know each other, that God will richly bless both of them, that M will feel loved, accepted and secure, and that any problems caused by the stress of the change (which at the moment seems to be minimal, praise God!) will be kept to a minimum. Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise!

  • Betty - Thursday 9th     I asked for prayer for Betty last week. After a few days in hospital she is home again. A carer will be living with her for a few days, till she is able to cope. We thank God for His care and for helping her through this crisis. Pray that she will coon be back to normal.

  • Amy (Warwickshire) - Tuesday 7th     This is a bit belated, but I promised I would tell you about how God answered our prayers regarding the NEO ministry trip to Austria in August. He provided for us, protected us and blessed us and those we met in so many ways beyond human explanation.  Thanks, Lord.  I have written a more extended testimony on the TESTIMONY page, if you want to know more...

  • Adele - Tuesday 7th     Right well I thought I better put a message on the answer board!!! LOL WOW what a time I have had..... I think it is safe to say that I am back on track.....I hope that with support of Christian friends, few as they may be I will stay on track this time. I am starting to trust in God more and to hand my life over to him and trust him a bit more (yer not a lot at the mo, but I plan on building it up) and hey no1's perfect anyway!!!:)  I just hope and pray that things stay this way!!! well up until now (and I must admit I haven't really looked at this site in a lil while not properly) I hadn't seen the prayer requests that have been put up for me. so I had NO idea that people had been praying about my self harm..... yer A:= me  went to a service sat and was TOTALLY filled with the holy spirit until I was 100% overflowing and totally drunk!!! LOL  Sunday's service was scary and well I don't know..... it was amazing in A LOT of ways, but felt I needed more prayer (I never seem to avoid it when God wants me to be prayed for) well the woman that prayed for me I had spoken to the night before about cutting cus felt God wanted me to tell some1. this lady had me on her heart, she had been praying for me and had been told by God to ask me about giving up cutting and I had to give a yes or no answer (she's a Christian councillor)..... inside me was this big spiritual battle the devil wanted me to say no and was going to do anything to make me carry on, so I was getting some nasty images, but gods voice was SO much stronger and I knew I had to stop. so finally I gave J. the blades as they were in my bag and said that I was going to stop and give it to God. and I have got rid of all the stuff I have found at home too. thanks to all of you that have been praying, I had no idea and all this happened, wow God is AMAZING. finally THANK YOU GOD for answering this prayer and being here for me, and giving me people to support me. also for giving me the strength to help others in difficult situations, and I pray that I can continue to help her!!! all my love, God bless xXx<><†

  • M, M and Jeff (Florida) - Saturday 4th    Hi! We are feeling some wind now. The hurricane slowed up enough for us to get better prepared. Our house is solid but we didn't have some of our windows as protected as we should. We thought about leaving our home for a shelter but we felt the Lord tell us to prepare and to stay. We now have two people with us that had no where else to go. They live in trailers or camper. So we are a shelter praise the Lord!! We all put our food together and at this point are eating like kings and queens. Our prayer for time and safety has been answered so far and we know God is faithful and will continue to protect. Amen!!!

  • Heather  (Birmingham) - Saturday 4th     Thanks again to all who supported me in prayer during my orchestra tour this last week. I did survive, and managed to do all the concerts, although the pain levels were horrendous, but God gave me the strength to keep going, and also to do the necessary walking etc at airports, although it was touch and go at times!!  But please be encouraged: although' I found it a very difficult tour and wasn't able to enjoy the playing as much due to the pain in my shoulders, I was still able to be a witness to the Love of Christ to at least 2 people (unofficial agony aunt!!), and witnessed the most incredible scenery in Italy and Switzerland on the mountain passes, which just reminded me of God's amazing power and greatness, even though I am weak! So God's promise is true:  'My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.' May Jesus Christ be praised and glorified through me as He has promised, and may anyone else who is feeling weak and useless be encouraged: God can still use you, even when you least expect it!
Christ is risen! He is risen indeed-Allelujah!

August 2004

  • Anonymous - Tuesday 31st     Thank you to God and everybody who prayed for Greenbelt Festival. Everything went well, it did not rain too much, so the site was kept safe. It was wonderful to see so many thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds enjoying the music, crafts and events. There was an excellent range of speakers and worship. It felt very special and God was working in many many ways.

  • Caroline and Sam c/o Faithie (Northamptonshire) - Wednesday 25th     Thank you everyone praying for my sister's friend Caroline and her Baby Sam the good news is that Sam is now out of hospital and is breast fed by Caroline. Unfortunately the hospital left some "things" inside Caroline and these are still causing her problems. Please pray that the hospital can get it right this time and that Caroline will soon be restored to full health.  Praise the Lord that Sam is better and I pray that he leads a happy, healthy life from here on.

  • Mary F - Wednesday 25th     Recently I asked for prayer for Mary F who was having a hip operation. She is recovering well and is walking further each day and has managed to go to the church services again. Thank you to everybody who prayed, and Thanks to God for His healing.

  • PE (Maidstone) - Wednesday 18th     Thank you for all who prayed concerning my daughter who was having difficulties in a marriage where she had little say in what went on and also her aggressive husband had lost his job. We also requested prayer for her to be able to have a family as her time clock is running out and is in a senior role in a pressurised job which commands a large percentage of time. The Lord moves in mysterious ways as we do not always receive answers to prayer at the time we request and we are taught to place our requests before our Lord on a regular basis.  Thank you Jesus for your answer as her husband has now secured employment although some 80 miles away and stays during the week returning home at weekends. My daughter travels there one evening midweek after work returning next morning leaving early to start work at 8.30.   We would still appreciate your prayers for her to give her life to Jesus, for safe travelling and for her to be able to have a family before it is to late.  Thank you. Praise the Lord!

  • ANONYMOUS - Sunday 15th     I want to thank God for the safe return to England of friends who have been working on projects in Africa during the summer. Chris went to Northern Nigeria, Ruth to Uganda and Scott to Tanzania. All have returned with stories of great experiences and how God worked through the projects they were helping with. Thank you to the Prayer Partners for praying for them as they travelled.

  • ANONYMOUS - Tuesday 10th      THANK YOU GOD! We give thanks for signs that Joan F. is making a recovery after an operation to remove a brain tumour. (See update). Please continue to pray, that the tumour will totally disappear and that she will recover her health.

  • MARY MARY - Tuesday 10th     PRAISE THE LORD!! Mary, Mary and Jeff are proud grand parents of our 6th grandchild. This morning JaLynn came in to this world with a lot of noise. She is healthy and beautiful. Amen Our first Sunday revival was a big success, all glory to God. They can't wait for us to come back! We are sending the flyers for prayerrequests to over 50 writers. We know they will be as excited as we are that there is a place to place our prayer requests, as we are and write about it. Bless the Lord!!! Amen We love you all and thank God that the sight is back up. Bless the Lord!!!! Thank you for your prayers. Mary, Mary

  • Juliana (South Africa) - Sunday 1st     Praise to our faithful Heavenly Father!! Sylvester, who has gone missing, has contact his friend in Cape Town, saying he is now going to go and live in Cape Town where he has got a job as a barman (not the most perfect milieu) and where he will at least have a support system in caring friends, and might even decide to go back to school. Please keep on praying for his friends in Cape Town for support for them and that he will find the Lord and except Him as his Saviour. Thank you very much

  • Samuel (Birmingham) - Friday 23rd     After a distressing admission to hospital a few days ago, Samuel is now back on his feet and has  returned home.  Thank God for this healing and also for the faith and trust of his family continuously through every difficulty.  Please continue to pray for his full recovery (especially at this time of being taken off medication, which has caused side effects).

  • Anonymous - Friday 23rd     Thank you GOD for a wonderful Holiday Club week in Southam, Warks. The programme and organisation went well and it was great to see people from the different churches working and having fun together. Thank you for good weather, so we could do the outside activities, for all the organisers and musicians and the sandwich makers. We ask God to be with all the children and helpers; to help the few children with behaviour problems, to make His presence felt in their lives, to bring them peace and calm. In Jesus' Name we pray.

  • Jen c/o Amy (Midlands) - Monday 19th     ANSWER / UPDATE   Jen posted this update on the Hypermobility Syndrome chat site.  Thank God for her news so far, and please continue to pray for her and others with HMS.  Thanks.  'Just a quick message to let you know that I am now back from hospital. The operation went well they found that the tear was pretty bad, and it was very tatty in my hip so they tidied it up and did what they do for the tears.  They said that because I am so hypermobile, when my joint is coming in and out even just a little it is wearing away at the gristle between the ball and socket of the hip. The doctors said I have a few years yet, but didn't explain what he meant: we are assuming that he meant I will need to have a new hip because of it wearing away. But when we go for a follow up appointment we will ask him what is gonna come about in the future. Anyway, I have to go - I am getting sore, take care hope you are all well Jen'

  • Hannah (Warwickshire) - Sunday 18th     I got the teaching job, after the interview on Thursday! Thank God.  Thank you also to those who prayed for me - it was fantastic to feel so supported in prayer. This has been a valuable lesson for me in trusting that God will provide for us what we need. I have been trying to get a teaching job like this since I left college a year ago, so I have had to try and be patient and trusting, despite financial worries.  God has taught me a lot through this difficult time. Thank you again.  God bless you.

  • Amy (Warks) - Friday 9th     I have a car!  I have not been able to drive for two years because of my disabilities, but have finally found a car that I can drive, which suits all my requirements (automatic, comfortable seating position, headroom, knee room, small enough to manoeuvre but enough space to fit a wheelchair and a 'cello in at the same time, and affordable)! Now I will be able to be much more independent (because I live in the countryside and have had to depend on others for lifts). When I posted a request, I said that it sounded impossible, but that 'with God all things are possible'.  Indeed they are! (If anyone else is looking for something similar, it is a Suzuki Wagon R.)  This week Heather (who also has Hypermobility Syndrome) has also found a car to suit her needs.  Thanks, Lord!

  • Shirley (Cheshire) and A.P. (Warks) - Thursday 8th     Thank you for praying for Shirley S. in Cheshire and for A.P. in Warwickshire. Both are making a good recovery after many months of illness. Thank You, God, for your healing.

  • Re: my nan! - Tuesday 6th     Thank you SO much in Christ Jesus, everyone who has prayed with us - WE HAVE JUST HEARD THAT SHE HAS BEEN OFFERED A MONTH'S TRIAL AT THE CHRISTIAN CARE HOME!!!!! This is such an answer to prayer, and is so encouraging because she has lived and loved for Jesus-as my dad reminded us the other day when things looked pretty bleak-"No-one who trusts in Him will ever be put to shame or disappointed". Also things look more promising for a proper recovery as it turns out that it was not a stroke but overactive thyroid and high blood pressure. Also Jesus has been very much visibly at work in my life-to help me to trust Him and that I have a future and a hope in our wonderful Lord Jesus-and so do you!!! xxxxx

  • Heather (Birmingham) - Monday 5th     Thanks to all who prayed for me over the weekend! It was really tough, and I had to keep reminding myself to look to Jesus for His help and strength, but I managed to keep working, and to stay cheerful for most of the time! In private it is hard not to get discouraged over the deterioration in my physical health, especially in the walking, but thanks to your prayers God is still blessing me within the trials I am facing! Thanks too for those who prayed about the car: I went to see one today, had complete peace about it, and have bought it! Isn't it wonderful to know that God cares about even the seemingly trivial things in our lives!! Praise Him!

  • R & A - Sunday 4th     After putting up a request because of life feeling hard and struggling, I (A) have had three really good days with lots of blessings - particularly at an evening service where the Holy Spirit touched me in a very powerful way and brought me much joy and courage to face my trials - and vision for new things.  I feel turned around - please pray for continued strength, and strength for R who is still very tired.  A wonderful and fast answer to prayer - thanks for praying!
